We're a privately owned 'family' business and extremely proud to be in our 11th year of operation.  With eight high quality, purpose-built centres located in various part of Sydney, we have earned an excellent reputation among the thousands of families who have chosen Acre Woods for their child.

Acre Woods was born from a 'simple' philosophy: 'a business operated by parents of young children for parents of young children'.  As parents ourselves, we understand the need for peace of mind, choice and 'making life a bit easier' when it comes to childcare.  This understanding and our expectation of only the highest standards of care has forged our reputation with parents.

History
Acre Woods started life in July 2000 with the acquisition of a small centre in Sydney's lower north shore.

When we acquired the first centre we never dared to dream that Acre Woods would become what it is today. In fact, at that time, there was no plan beyond simply owning and operating that single centre in Crows Nest as successfully as we could.

At that time, childcare centres were generally not like the purpose-built centres we see today, and many of them were based within a renovated house or a community hall.

The industry as a whole has changed dramatically over the last decade.  In that time we've seen the rise of the 'stock-market listed' childcare groups, and we've since witnessed their spectacular fall in one way or another.

We've also seen a dramatic increase in the planning, compliance, licensing and qualification requirements, all of which have forced the industry to move from its origins as a 'cottage industry' to the more professional standards that we see today.

When Acre Woods was 'born' a simple philosophy was applied to every decision that was made and is represented by the statement:
"Acre Woods is a business owned and operated by parents of young children for parents of young children."

This simple, underlying approach has permeated every decision we have made over the years and we believe has helped us create the quality of centres for which Acre Woods is renowned.

Following the success of the first Acre Woods centre, it became clear that we had the capacity and the desire to operate more than one centre, provided they were all able to maintain the same standards.

Although that first centre is no longer part of our group, the approach, the philosophy and the manner in which we operate our centres has remained constant throughout, and as we have progressively expanded our group through focusing on purpose-built centres, we have always held true to our ideals.
